We chose to have the 20 week ultrasound because my husband was adamant he know the gender and I felt uneasy and knew it would make me feel better to see the baby was healthy. But certainly feel it is a good choice to avoid also. :)Julia @ Natural Parents Networkhttp://naturalparentsnetwork.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126470236344830481.post-12164773078156600322012-05-22T08:29:51.844-07:002012-05-22T08:29:51.844-07:00You lok great Mama! I am all for the ultrasound - but that is me - I need to know everything about the baby - and I have no issues with it - it can tell you and the dr if there is any issues to be aware of... but again, that's just me. If you choose not to, then I'm sure you will be fine either way! :) There are risks with everything, so i guess if you decide its not worth it, then no worries!Skye https://www.blogger.com/profile/05663879992702576347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126470236344830481.post-8646558418142938422012-05-22T06:42:00.402-07:002012-05-22T06:42:00.402-07:00Glad you're felling better! Our reasoning was that it's better to know which route you are heading toward before you come to the fork in the road. I know for both you & I we were thrown a curve the 1st time around, but at least you will be able to see whether or not VBAC will be a viable option for you before you spend hours in labor just to end up with another C-Section again. We too were going to try a VBAC if she decided to make an appearance before my due date, but I ended up being glad we made it to her date so that the Grandmas could be there. Just keep in mind- ultrasound (while still bouncing sound waves off the baby) is still exponentially safer than x-rays & the technology has improved over the years to lessen risks as well- it's one of the safest imaging techniques currently.
I was just thinking about you the other day saying to myself "she should be just about 1/2 way done" so it's ironic that your blog today is on the same timeline!
Hope you continue to feel better!
Hugs to all!Liz Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15346543292832894521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126470236344830481.post-90528846772589654502012-05-22T03:30:59.568-07:002012-05-22T03:30:59.568-07:00Glad you are feeling better Mel!
