An Ode to Our First Babies.
We used to be "those people". In what sense? Those people that treat their dogs like their babies. Taking multiple pictures, feeding people food, sharing couch space.. we did all that. However, when Mason came into the picture, our poor pooches became neglected. Not in a -call the ASPCA- neglected kind of way, but in the sense that all the attention is now directed towards our new baby. The real baby. Even though they don't read my blog (they are border collies, so they may be smart enough to do so...), I thought I would share a little about Gatsby (black), Gulliver (brown), and Adagio (who hasn't lived with us for over a year now).
GulliverGatsbyOk, I know what you are thinking. Awwwwwwwwww--right?
Yes, they were super cute.
That is why we came home with THREE of them.
Crazy us? YES.
Because, border collie puppies have A LOT of energy.
Energy they need to get rid of one way or another...
We live on out in the country.
Luckily, they grew out of that and 1 1/2 years later, we were able to put together the new set of chairs we recieved as a gift at our wedding. So far, so good.
This is why when my sister moved out, Adagio (her puppy) had to go to. He now lives with a very nice family in Nebraska somewhere.
We live on out in the country.
We tried to keep the dogs in a fenced-in area, you know,
to keep them out of trouble and off the road.
Then, last winter brought lots of snow.
Which made the fence shorter.
And...
The fence was taken down the following spring.
The fence was taken down the following spring.
But, after everything, we still love our doggies.
They will always be our first babies.
