Yeast and Stuff.
Thrush has invaded our home.. or at least Mason's mouth and consequently, my bazoombas (I can't believe I've been blogging this long and this is my first Friends reference). At first I was blaming all the symptoms on teeth. I thought for sure new ones were going to poke out at any moment. My bazoombas were sore, kind of like those first weeks of breastfeeding, I just figured he bit me and that's what was causing the pain. Mason has been fussy all week, not really wanted anyone to leave his side. There's been short naps, too much waking up during the night, and lots of drool.
Sounds like it could have been new teeth, right?
Well, luckily I had just read a couple other blogs that dealt with thrush. I got out the flashlight and somehow managed to look inside Mason's mouth. Sure enough, white patches were all over his cheek. None on his tongue though, which would have been a lot easier to spot.
So, we went to the doctor today and got some medicine. I think it is already working, he hasn't slept this well in a while. The best part about visiting the doc was finding out how much our chunk weighs -- 20 pounds, 9 ounces.
I feel like Mason's been speeding through some developmental milestones. He needs to take it easy. Three days after he started crawling, he cruised around the hassock. He now sits up on his own, as in he'll be crawling around, I blink and all of a sudden he is sitting. Mason loves to stand, pulls himself up wherever possible. And, today, he did the no hands trick. Look, no hands!

He doesn't crawl too fast on the floor, but he sure can bolt across a bed in no time flat. I'm sure that before we know it, he'll be walking and we'll be chasing him all over the house.

Babies grow up so fast, it's just sad. *sniff* I can't believe my girl will be 9 months so soon, seems like yesterday we were at the hospital!
