8 Months.
Dear Mason,
Eight months old... hmmm... when did that happen?
I have no idea how heavy you are, but you are a chunk. You don't have another check-up until next month and I haven't located our scale since we moved, but I'm guessing you are close to 20 pounds. Although you've started crawling, you haven't been losing any inches on your thighs, so I've had to bury a couple diapers to the bottom of the pile because they don't fit right now. Most of the clothes you wear are size 18 months.
Talk of mama and dada has died down quite a bit. Your new favorite is baba and more recently papa (the a sound as in apple). I think it is safe to say you've entered the babbling stage, most talking is done at night, when you've reached delirium.
Your favorite things to do right now are:
1. Be outside!
2. Play Mom or Dad jungle gym.
3. Eat.
4. Watch/"pet" the animals.
While laptops, cords, mail, cell phones, hair, ears, cameras, and shoes are eye catching to you and you really like to get your paws on them, we try to steer you towards safer play things. You enjoy your musical table, the microphone stand, and books. Oh, how you LOVE to turn the pages of books.. although after the page-eating incident, we've been sticking to board books recently.
No new teeth to report. Although, for a while I thought there were going to be since you'd wake in the middle of the night.
Crawl, crawl, crawl. Climb, climb, climb. Move, move, move. You are all over the place. You don't sit still and you love to stand up. About 2 and a half days after you started crawling, you cruised around the hassock. I think this was a fluke because you have yet to do it again, and I'm okay with that.
You've created a nice, yet flexible schedule for yourself. You wake up, usually around 7:30 (although lately, this time has been all over the place), we do dishes, eat breakfast, play, then you nap around 10. When you wake up from your nap, it is time to make dinner, we eat, we play, we play some more, nap time again around 3. If the day has gone well and we've worn you out accordingly, you won't take a third nap and then stay up late (11pm) before finally giving in to bedtime, ahem, and will be a good guy and go to bed between 8 and 9. Of course there's lots of milk drinking spead out in your schedule, but you make the rules up for that as you go.
Your personallity is further developing and it is so fun to see.
Keep being you.
Love,
Mom
