Lasagna

I don't often make lasagna, in fact I've only made it once before today and it didn't turn out too good. It wasn't my fault, I swear. The recipe called for uncooked noodles and that was the mistake on their part.
Well today Mason and I made a mighty fine lasagna (with uncooked noodles) in the crock pot. It was so easy and it was nice my little kitchen sidekick could help out. I think it may have been the best I've ever had. I had three helpings.. but that could be due to my current ravenously hungry state of pregnancy.

I'm no food photographer.. that string of cheese makes it pretty obvious.

Mason helped me out by putting the noodle layers in, although most of the time he just wanted to use the noodle as a spoon to eat the tomato sauce. When we were done, he went crazy with what was left of that sauce.

Here's the recipe in case you are interested:

Looking back at it now, I noticed I changed more than I thought. I only had cottage cheese (not ricotta), plain ol' tomato sauce (not Italian, so I added some Italian-ish spices), no parmesean cheese, I didn't even see there was an onion in it (oops). I guess I'm not the best recipe follower. I bet it would taste good without the sausage, too.
So if you are like me and love your slow cooker, give this recipe a spin. Or at least some version of it.

I cook Italian all the time - but I can never ever get lasagna right- you are not alone! But it does look like it turned out ok then if you had 3 servings LOL- Mason looks like he loved it - haha!

The lasagna looks great Mel! I've tried the uncooked too and just got crunchy noodles. My favorite recipe is my sister-in-law's - the one I've made for our get togethers, but I'm up for anything involving the slow cooker :) Obviously both you and Mason loved it (well Mason at least loved the sauce!). Adorable photos.
