My Face Is Out of the Toilet

19 weeks of this pregnancy down, crazy I'm about to the halfway point. I haven't thrown up for three days, so I'm confident I'm done doing that for a while. At least until the acid reflux rears its ugly head.
My belly button is already starting to pop out, seems kinda soon to me. I'm starting to feel movement more often now, especially when I yawn. Perhaps my lungs are invading on his/her space?
In a couple weeks we are scheduled for an ultrasound, but are not yet sure whether we will follow through with it. We've been swinging back and forth, talking about the pros and cons, and just can't seem to decide what we want to do.
The reason to get one would be to make sure there are no abnormalities that would make a vaginal birth out of the question. Of course these are very rare, but do still happen.
The reason not to would be potential risks, known and unknown. If you want to read some, go here.
What would/did you do? Any advice?

FYI - All my belly pics will probably happen at night, in bad lighting, with me in sweats. That's how I operate.

Glad you are feeling better Mel! I operate the same- comfy clothes anytime from 6 p.m. on and relaxing lighting, only I don't do belly pictures :)

Glad you're felling better! We always did the scheduled ultrasounds but declined any additional testing offered. Our reasoning was that it's better to know which route you are heading toward before you come to the fork in the road. I know for both you & I we were thrown a curve the 1st time around, but at least you will be able to see whether or not VBAC will be a viable option for you before you spend hours in labor just to end up with another C-Section again. We too were going to try a VBAC if she decided to make an appearance before my due date, but I ended up being glad we made it to her date so that the Grandmas could be there. Just keep in mind- ultrasound (while still bouncing sound waves off the baby) is still exponentially safer than x-rays & the technology has improved over the years to lessen risks as well- it's one of the safest imaging techniques currently.
I was just thinking about you the other day saying to myself "she should be just about 1/2 way done" so it's ironic that your blog today is on the same timeline!
Hope you continue to feel better!
Hugs to all!

You lok great Mama! Glad you are feeling better! I am all for the ultrasound - but that is me - I need to know everything about the baby - and I have no issues with it - it can tell you and the dr if there is any issues to be aware of... but again, that's just me. If you choose not to, then I'm sure you will be fine either way! :) There are risks with everything, so i guess if you decide its not worth it, then no worries!
Yay for no more throwing up! I threw up with this pregnancy for the first 25 weeks or so so I know how exciting it is to be over it! We chose to have the 20 week ultrasound because my husband was adamant he know the gender and I felt uneasy and knew it would make me feel better to see the baby was healthy. But certainly feel it is a good choice to avoid also. :)
